The Hospitality Program gives students the skills they need to enter the hospitality industry, whether full-time or on an part-time basis. Students will learn skills that will assist them in navigating both front and back of house. Students gain essential knowledge for making espresso coffee, non-alcoholic beverages, salads and appetisers as well as customer service skills.
Certificates delivered are nationally recognised and include:
- Certificate II Hospitality
- Certificate II Tourism
- COVID Safe Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
Students aspire, strive, and achieve through Certificate based and School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) subjects to gain WACE (Secondary Graduation) in Year 12.
Students also undertake workplace learning to turn what they learn in our commercial kitchen into reality. Our strong links with the community offers students the opportunity to network within the industry, whilst gaining valuable experience.
The Hospitality program is delivered by a chef, who has extensive experience in the industry, in our purpose-built commercial kitchen, students will gain ‘real world’ experiences by participating in the following events:
- 100 Club
- Year 12 Presentation Night
- 5,000 Meals
- Positive Ageing High Tea (City of Armadale)
- Lego League Catering
Students have the opportunity to participate in an inclusive working environment with industry and real-world educational delivery across Year 11 and 12. Students who complete our hospitality program will be well equipped to enter the workforce.
