Industry Program

Armadale Senior High School offers students a range of trade related pathways in upper school within the Industry Program. Certificates delivered as part of the Program are nationally recognised and include Furnishing, Automotive, Construction and Engineering. Industry Program students aspire, strive and achieve through Certificate based and School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) subjects to gain WACE (Secondary Graduation) in Year 12. Both pathways include English, Mathematics, Physical Education and Workplace Learning. Our strong link with local businesses provides our students with Workplace Learning opportunities to engage them with relevant and challenging practical experiences.

The Industry Program at Armadale Senior High School is delivered in our state of the art facilities, including our $2 million Wet Trades Construction focus Trade Training Centre. This provides students with an outstanding work environment in which to develop their trade specific skills to industry standards.

Recently, our upper school program has expanded with the introduction of our Industry Program in Year 10 (IP10). IP10 provides a practical and engaging program catering for twenty students who display an interest in pursuing a trade related career. Trade and industry exposure at a Year 10 level not only benefits student engagement, by developing their practical skill sets, it also greatly assists with their career aspirations and pathway choices.

In IP10, strong literacy and numeracy focus is embedded within theoretical and practical tasks of each subject including Physical Education, Careers and Enterprise, and Home Economics, all of which are integral to the program’s success. Many of the courses are SCSA subjects and successful grades in each will greatly assist each student achieve graduation and their Western Australian Certificate of Education.

Industry Program students are provided with strong leadership and direction by targeting specific needs including engaged learning, inclusive working environment, industry and real world educational delivery. Across Years 10, 11 and 12, entry into the Industry Program is by selection and interview.
